With the new ability to turn off passive skill does it make sense to raise vit over that 140 mark and not have to worry about becoming dps?

VIT won't be a problem since you can disable auto attacks or Diel Style. So yes, if you capped STR CRT DEX and got more than 140 points left you can put them in VIT.

I am aware of that in fact that's what I said what I asking is it a better option then adding those points to your apos lines. Will that much more tankyness outweigh the dmg reduction.

That's for you to decide, but if you were planning on putting those points in apos lines, then I think VIT might be a better option. I personally have 100 VIT and atm not planning on adding more. If you feel you need more HP, you could put more points.
