Hi, and thanks for your help in advance. I am new to this game. I reached level 26 as a Mage without realizing how involved and intricate this game is! So before I go any further I have been researching classes and I like the idea of being a monk. I like to be able to go solo without a problem, but also be useful in parties as well. My question is do you feel a monk's job is doable for a noob? If not, what would you suggest? Once I finally pick my job I can then go out there with a goal and some focus haha.

Imo monk is not a newb friendly class as it involve quite complicated mechanic like autoskill and sort.
I recommend u for bishop as it more of direct approach type of class. Might aswell consider paladin & gladiator of warrior branch o.o/

Most people think monk is some difficult class since they mostly use autoskills and the other types of monks are glass cannon geobreakers. I find it not very beginner friendly but they are good if you can manage at least a little spina.
There are quite a good amount of newbie friendly classes: note: (Your level is still quite low so you can still reset your stats until you hit lv 50? Someone pls correct me if i'm wrong)
NINJA - Very cheap equipment to start with and can solo MQ very effectively. They also have a choice to switch to minstrel for some easy levels and money. PALADIN - Very tanky so they don't die easily. They can also solo MQ easily and are almost unstoppable when paired with bishops. BISHOP - They can find parties very easily and can solo well with a counter set. (RECOMMENDED) SERVANT - They are basically outclassed by bishop in most ways but they have the same pros as bishop and can manipulate hate and give other useful buffs. NECROMANCER - They have some of the best solo potential in the game. Once you understand their playstyle, you can basically finish mq. They can also be mp healers.

Here is my opinion, if you don't over complicate stuff monk can be considerably newbie friendly. Evasion help alot at low level, and crit help you to dish out better damage. And unlike other classes where you had to spam skills, you really only need to cast bless and heal every now and then. Its quite a relaxing class, at least until you reach level 140.
In my opinion, brigand knife and sion capell is a decent newbie claw. Dragon mail can give you a bit of attack%, leather coat up/reup help alot on monsters that hit you often. doggy ear up (reup?) can give some evasion boost. It might seems a little outdated, but I think it helps with your survivability as you learn and expand your knowledge.
Once you choose which type of monk you wanna become, you can just start building your equips and stat the way you want.

Thankyou for your help everyone! I will give this some more thought. I have a little time still, I'm playing a little slow due to my work schedule. I want to read more guides and opinions on this site and get more acquainted with this game. I have one more Q. Can I have more than one avatar with a different class? I notice at the startup there are arrows on each side of her. Is that for more avatars like I think?

I won't be much help since I don't have a monk. However, I want to give you a very simple advice. As you mentioned in your post you are relatively new in this game. So, my advice is once you choose your class learn the different builds of it so you wont mess your stats. Proper stats distribution is the most important aspect in the game particularly for those who are F2P Gamers. Wish you to have fun and goodluck

Every class is a good beginner class. The game is literally hack and slash.
Now, if you want *easy*, go for bishop (easiest), ninja or paladin/gladiator/beast knight/samurai/enchanter/any bulky character because those guys can finish the missions with the least difficulty

Every class is a good beginner class. The game is literally hack and slash. Now, if you want *easy*, go for bishop (easiest), ninja or paladin/gladiator/beast knight/samurai/enchanter/any bulky character because those guys can finish the missions with the least difficulty I just thought of these after reading your post but I feel like the warrior branch is less newbie friendly. Aside from the relatively high price ceiling, pots are a very big problem that most newbies are too lazy to do, can't be bothered to do or have many other more important things to do. Whenever I play any warrior branch I spam salt and then need to spam hp pots as well. A bishop can self-sustain unless they're spamming so hard that they need mp pots. A ninja on the other hand, needs no pots to farm whatsoever, except the magic type. Then a few light green eggs or dangos work. They can also switch to minstrel for a super easy leeching time. THIS IS WHY SOME MINSTRELS I PT WITH ARE RETARDED AND DON'T HAVE ALL THE SONGS FOR THEIR LEVEL (y u no spam d newt) The gear of a mage branch character is also relatively cheap. Taenia beret is one of the best gears for almost all mage+ and it's only a few million. And did you just add samurai to bulky? Vit builds are bulky but I from experience as an auto samurai, once I take off my myrica . . . (to be continued) and they are quite expensive especially for newbies TL:DR (spina is very scarce for a newb) warrior branch - expensive gear (pally exists though), all day farm pots. wizard branch - taenia beret (except ench), infinite mana. cleric branch - good sustain in long farm sessions ninja - newb's wet dream and can switch to mins (curse you retarded minstrels)

gladiators for example are pretty straightforward build it with str dex and crt and add vit for extra survival and just let all ur chars pented up fury to ur target via the berserk or just the normal aspd
anyways as mentioned above bishops are one of the most easy to manage class but since u somehow locked ur eyes on monk then better set ur priorities straight for ur char - do i want to solo - do i want to be in pt - power vs survival - spina --can i gear it decently till i can get the pro gears -- can i farm to get more spina
one thing i can say about pally though is that theyre used to be called drunkards xD all day long consuming sp revita ale
