Hi! So here's the thing. I'm not new but i only played casually. I have a lv42 mage for ages and since I didn't use my stat points I have like 67. I used a few on dex/agility/vit (they're at like 15). I have no idea why tbh I got gifted a beautiful princely rod. So my normal attacks deal like 100 damage more than my actual spells. I'm still deciding on what class to go since I'm mainly a solo (little time to play)... I was wondering if I should increase my int or str in the meantime? Princely rod is very useful and I never use mana attack anyway... but for the future? This has been on my mind all day so I'll just ask xD

I got the same problem when I started. Someone gave me a Carnix and my main attacks were all physical, even being a mage. My suggestion to you is: first decide what job you want to be, then you can distribute your stat points efficiently. If you want to keep using princely rod, your options are bishop or high wizard (maybe servant), but is up to you.
About stat distribution... It depends on the job you choose. If you choose monk, for example, int could be a waste while str would be useful. But if you choose bishop/high wizard/enchanter/servant, int should be your main stat while str would be almost useless.
As you see, it's hard to tell you what you need to do without clues about where you want to go.
Start taking a look at the final jobs guides and search for some info about the available classes for you. This will help you to clear your mind and give you a more clear vision of your situation.
And finally: Don't give up! The mage branch could be boring/confusing/challenging/expensive sometimes but the efforts really worth the price.

Thing is, you should build your equips around your job, and not the other way round. So first take a look at the pros and cons of every class and decide what you want to be. Say for example princely rod that you have, it is not the highest damage/heal rod for any class as such. Bishops tend to prefer Caterina rod (last upgrade of princely rod) for its balance, but I hear of better rods to come in the near future. High wizards would go with forbidden book 4th upgrade/tellas rod/universe rod(upgrade out soon)/spell book 4th upgrade etc) Basically what I mean is that the weapon meta keeps changing and building a character around a particular weapon is risky as a new weapon might come out that is superior. So you should build around more stable things in the meta, for example classes and roles Thanks for taking the time to read!
