First of all this is intended for an open discussion, not starting a flame/race war, if you want to be that closed minded take it somewhere else. Some active forum members may be aware of the recently closed thread concerning the same topic, while I don't agree with the opinion of the original poster I feel like this subject needs to be addressed.
Iruna has no pvp, thus the focus is on coordination and teamwork, I'm sure we all agree on that. Language barriers do increase the difficulty of cooperation but is that enough to warrant the mandatory rule you can only speak the language I do or I won't party/guild with you.
Why is there such separation on an mmorpg which forces you to work together? What is the difference in selling me your item than selling it to a player who has the same native language as you?

I hadn't seen other thread (have now) Terrible. I havent noticed racism in game thankfully and I'll do my best to scrub the nonsense I just read from my mind. Everyone has the right to speak their native language and I'm shocked any one would say otherwise.
I do get bit sad when I see 'Indo only' on whatever but I don't let that stop me entering if I'm interested. Always worth a go and AFAIK I haven't been verbally abused for it but then I wouldn't know...doesn't make me feel like they should speak English though.
Spam is spam, en anglais or otherwise.

All I can say is they are making no sense at all.
The only solution for those kind of person is slide down your screen , tap settings, tap all apps, tap iruna, tap uninstall.....
Uninstalling . . . . .
Uninstall finished.

Well people haven't realized that we are on different ages far from those darkers years where everyone supported racism was right. Is like we are back on those years and is up to us new generation to teach the young ones to respect every race no matter who they are, language and color. In the end we all have bones and fresh.... Excuse my English if it wasn't very clearly I'm against racist people

Sorry if this seems like another nonsense/spam thread, it's just my way of "scrubbing my brain" of the aforementioned nonsense. Remaining ignorant is an option but I'm choosing to question if the language barrier is the source of this misdirected hate. Seeing things like 'indo only' is starting to infuriate me in the same way a player who wants everyone to use English all the time does. They are both wanting the same thing, to cleanse their community of anyone different from them.
Are we getting to the point where we would choose segregation just to avoid the complications of trying to communicate with a player who speaks different language(s)?
I've never traveled to Indonesia and I'm a bit confused if this kind of behavior is common there. Players of this nationality make a healthy percentage of the game and it seems to me for every 1 player with the attitude 'English only' there are 2 or more with the mentality 'Indo only'.
I'm not in any way saying all Indonesians are racist. Just curious if this is an Iruna specific problem or something accepted by this country?

They're just being an @$$hole just an @$$hole or something more. I've been in a situation where I joined a group chat offering to sell a raton xtal. I agreed to pay the price listed and another player joined the group who shared the native language of the admin, the player sold the xtal to the player of his own nationality even when I joined his group chat and agreed to the trade first

Hatred and prejudice won't be erased from us all. We've always feared the odd.
There are some that offer better prices in MMOs solely for sharing the same race because they feel connected. The other reason might be just the fact that it's been easier to communicate with them. This also applies when recruiting or hosting parties.
Co-operating might be proven difficult with different races because we all do not share the same mind; the way we think, and our traditions are different.
The only thing that we can do to prevent racism is to always keep an open mind. Just respect the others opinions as well as your own.

I am not racist at all. I do have mostly ph friends as more than half of the player base is ph,malay etc.
While I do respect all races, cultures and ethnicities...I do find it rather annoying as an English only speaker being in guilds where they speak their language most of the time (pinoy? Is this right?) Also I hate being in parties where they don't speak English bc I feel like communication is such a strong part of the game and when I can't communicate with my party I sort of feel like a burden on them because they always have to change how they would preferably speak to tell me something. So if a guild/party is speaking some other language I normally just leave instead of asking them "English pls". They have a right to their language as I do mine.
I find myself in English-only guilds not because I'm racist but just because I feel like I am in the right place.

Welp... Rather than calling it racism how bout we view it in another perspective and call it nationalism?
Always remember that we are a culturally diverse community.
Westerners find it bizarre that easterners eat dogs and cats just like cattle and poultry while easterners feel the same when westerners would donate their whole fortune for their pet dogs and cats and neglect their blood relatives
Some may give priority to friends.. Others first come first serve... Some to fellow countrymen.. And others to strangers
Next to those that prefer "all indo" or "all br"... It can easily be explained by the language barrier as most of them find it hard to speak in English so they stick on their comfort zone and pt with those they can easily speak with
It's not racism or idiocracy or selfish it's just that were different

I think it is most easily expressed as: Indo/pinoy/br/mexican these people treat fellow countrymen as "family" and would typically give biases and would help each other as unto what extent they can offer... And yes this behavior is well accepted not just by indo but also by those communities above mentioned... The main goal of playing iruna is having fun and this is what is fun for them... They may be a bit annoying but its not like they're harmful right? You might find it hateful that they would want to keep unto themselves; but imagine the difficulty they would hurdle just to accommodate you... Language barrier, cultural difference, etc.. Remember what your doing might also ruin their fun As you would want to be in a culturally diverse community some want themselves to be in a culturally exclusive community or to make it sound better a close-knit community
