Hello all high level gladiator, i am newbie here
I recently made a gladiator as my first character but im starting to find out how weak gladiator is.
Why is this so? I always thought that gladiator would deal good damage but now i found out that all other damage class does better damage than gladiator and for this reason nobody parties me.
I have started making enchanter now as i think it has more damage and same level of survival.
Why is gladiator damage so low? What makes gladiator worth making for all high level gladiator?
I need to know if i should keep gladi on the side for future or sell all stuff and dump it? Please give advise for this?

Outdated skills. That's just it. All gladiator skills are crap compared to the most popular jobs at the moment.
Even with top gear, gladiators are quite poor in performance at the moment. This class needs a huge buff to balance things out.
I suggest you play another job if you're in it for the power. I'm always tempted to change my gladiator because it's been crap recently but I always keep my hope up that it'll be better somehow.

If your just in it for the dps hard on, then your gonna be disappointed dude. You could go sin but then you would complain it's to squishy. You could go hw, mq will get you to imperial ray at least, but again, you would find it to be to squishy. You might try samu, but then of course it's to expensive (way out of your league for now lad) or then there is nin, but once you reach ep 3, everything will kill you. Most bosses have stun, poison, blindness, paralyses etc all the ailments that mess up any ninja that relies on clones.
The thing you gotta remember with glad And with monk and ench which just had a good dps boost with the recent patch. Sin also, other classes maybe in the future, such as of course, gladdy, is that they mightn't be the highest damagers out there, but they do really decent damage and still maintain good survivability. Both ench and glad after 160 are a couple of the cheapest classes to use as they require some few pots. Ench is the perfect auto class which has its own passives to enhance auto capabilities. Glad has reasonable (tho of course not op yet) dps, and with its stone skin (which enchiladas also has) and regen, is 1 of the best soloers in the game. Monk is great with the auto gear if you go claw, manage to proc stone skin nicely, and maybe freeze or whatever with additional attacks on equip can increase your damage range massively.
It's up to you what you want in the end. With the first classes I mentioned it is possible to deal massive damage and to survive comfortably, but only after you have poured millions and millions (read as billions) of spina into those classes, but for now I would highly recommend to stick with glad just to give it a go coz at least that can set you up for the other classes and if you use another char for those, you will have your glad all ready for when it gets its own massive damage boost. Also gives you something you can rely on at the times that finding a party on some things might be difficult.

This^ Gladiator is seriously out of date, I've also given much thought on changing to samu or ninja. If their planning to fix the class with recent patches they been doing it would have to be a very big patch because gladiator hasn't had a decent damage boost skill since 260 skills. 3 things a patch would need to do to level things out would be to: 1 - allow tempest to work on mobs as well as bosses (by far in my opinion the most important thing and would make us great in parties) - i would even trade in the agi dmg boost given to tempest for allowing tempest to work on mobs, id be happy to switch back to vit if the next two things on this list are done too 2 - either have bloodthirst negate exhaustion or just remove exhaustion altogether 3 - increase the duration for esperanza to 2 or 3 mins.

They may not have the best dps, but they have good survivalbility reflect so they can rush me easily till 140 with good gear. Survivalbility with decent dps? Count me in. I'd rather survive and play by myself then be squishy and depend on others for my survival.

Both enchy and pally (top level pallies) have better survivability and damage than gladi, enchy only recently started out dpsing gladi though. Right now theres 3 classes that fit into the survivability/dmg classes and out of those 3 gladiator is by far the weakest. I too have a gladiator, level 344 with over 900 released stats so im no slouch. Take it from me this class is out of date.

I got a level 267 with top armor, xtals and an AAS and yet pretty much useless everywhere else except bosses that don't put ailments much. It terms of gladiators being crap, still not the crappiest out there. Best for MQ tbh. Which is pretty much the only reason I login for recently so it's cool.

That's not entirely true, I've seen Eohn solo ouvel, cordal, almas, grapagos and raton without death (plus other bosses i haven't seen him solo)... Almas ouvel and raton do every single ailment in game pritty much. Im fairly certain if someone could solo ouvel and grapagos they could more or less solo most ep 3 and quite a lot of ep 4 bosses without much issue.

Talking about mine and possibly most people's paladins. Pretty sure not everyone has the dedication to get to that level.

Actually i know a couple of pallies that can clear those feats levi and varaha would be among them but its true, thats no easy feat to get too. But the point is that pallies can solo and survive just as well as gladiator while doing insanely higher damage. Bro if you got a pally you should keep leveling it... I would if i had a pally with gear

Pretty much crap in most places though Knights need more love! Fuggen Asobimo and their ninjas

This thread made me reconsider and I stopped training my gladi to work on my ench. :/ well thanks... Well look don't completely lose hope, gladiator may get patched. I would suggest for now though to work on your enchy. Especially while the exp buff is active. Look at the bright side... All my effort went into this class. At least you haven't leveled so far into the class that you cant build another and make that your main... For me my only option to get a different main account would be to change my gladiator to samu or ninja.
