I've been getting questions about how to build a monk then there's me, answering a usual answer like it depends on a player's gameplay, IMHO. I really can't say which build is the best 'cause i really don't know..

{STATS
Here's the explanation how your stat affects your monk.}
AGI
For base attack - claw - monks have claw mastery so you might want to use claw
For EVA - monk are not a warrior class so they dont have much defense like warrior and we need more eva to avoid most of the attacks
For ASPD - for any dps, maxing a weapon's ASPD is one of the priority to do
STR
For base attack - second option to up after AGI/INT if you want to have a high damage
CRT
For damage - critical never miss and multiplies base attack based on CRT you have
For Shell Break - shell break is a CRT dependent
VIT
For HP - tank and hybrid builds want more HP
For DEF - DPS doesnt need def that much but tank monks do want it
INT
For MP - monks have a skill called rush which will reduce your MaxMP to 30% and monk's MP and will go decrease the moment you change job to app monk but you'll get an increase for HP
For Chakra - monks have a skill called chakra which increase their damage from INT and not MATK
For MATK - monk's heal will decrease the moment you change job too. Some monk may want a nice heal for solo purpose and to reduce the use of pot and if you are the back up healer in the party
For MDEF - magic attacks from mobs can not be evade in normal EVA
For base attack - some monks use magic swords and throwing weapon so max INT is a must especially to geobreaker spam builds
For geobreaker - it reduce skill delay for geobreaker better than dex
DEX
For base attack - adds damage for throwing weapon and magic sword 'cause not all monks use claws
For CSPD - monks have a skills called bash and geobreaker which have cast delay that you wanna reduce

{SKILLS
I will not explain how to get these skills but how they usually works will be explained below.}
Lentus
Most people thought that monks are immortal because of this skill description at jp wiki so i would like to explain in easy words, it is a passive revival but it will be activated in one condition, you need to be stunned before dying but better not die with poison, though.
Using stuff like cursed evil eyes may do a trick for the battle but it'll take practice and timing for that.
Healing
It adds 10% of your heal reward and you can cast it to your party like how you cast warcry from knight class for your party.
Chakra
It adds attack from INT. For now, it is still at level 1 and it increase 1 ATK but it'll increase later and it'll more damage from INT later on. No matter how high or low your MATK is, it doesn't affect your ATK at all.
Rush
It is monk's version of berserk, it increase your atk speed without you being able to see your ASPD n stat but it does decrease MaxMP, makes potion's effect to half, lowers CRT damage and increase cast delay. It is not bad for a non warrior class and after being a slow killer as a monk, you might enjoy this skill. But take note, you can only use it while equipped with claw type of weapon.
Shell Break
It is an autoskill with a damage that is based on your enemy's defense but your damage can increase from your base attack. Your max damage for shell break have a limit in every mobs you'll fight so don't be surprised if a low level monk can deal the same shell break damage with a high level monks to a same enemy.
It is same as other class, you need to get an auto skill related gears if you want this to activate or cast it more than usual.
GeoBreaker
It is skill that has a slow delay that is a PT AoE which only hits mobs that are already hit and can make the mobs lethargic (fist icon) which lowers the enemy's attack. And it adds damage when you hit those frozen and stunned mobs. It is dependent on you base attack and your CRT.
Bash
It is like a hard hit and it stuns mobs. You can use skill delay gear so you can use it along with Geobreaker to be effective.
Battle Roar
It is an small AOE similar to pillar blade, which will make you target maximum of three mobs surrounding you at once. The higher your MATK, the higher your damage will be but it is still low even for max INT as I do think damage is the double of your MATK amount. Since it is not that dealing high damage but it does targets mobs, I do use it for provoking three mobs at once then use geobreaker to finish them all.
Panacea
It is a buff that will remove your exhaust on your status. Similar to one time use buff like revival, once exhaust is removed, the buff is gone. Sometimes, it does paralyze you for a few seconds.
Brionac
It is the active skill that deal higher as your enemy's defense. But it does have twenty seconds exhausts before you can use it again but you can counter it with panacea then use it again and again.
Sometimes, it does cause ailments to your enemy or to you. It can be bleed, blind, or paralyze your enemy by chance.

{APOSTOLIA
Whatever build that you have, these are the combos that you might want to use. But those are what I think that Monk would like to use for al christa combo.}
MAX ATK = 6 YELLOW LINES + 2 GREEN = 2 RED + 3 GREEN
MAX AUTOSKILL = 6 VIOLET + 2 BLUE = 2 RED + 3 BLUE
MAX EVA = 8 GREEN = 5 GREEN
MAX HP/DEF = 8 RED = 5 RED

{Weapon}
You can use any claws you want but Sion Capell or Brigand Band will be the recommended claws for agi/crt monks as their main weapon. Having extra claws wouldn't be bad, too. We do use different claws for different situation as well.
As ManaKhe suggested Fuma II or Air Slicer upgraded for geobreaker spam build.
