Who are NEETs in here? (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) don't be afraid telling us. I do not judge someone just because they are NEET.
And if you aren't NEET and/or became a NEET once and managed to take the first step to work for your life, what advice you can give to them?
I've been encountering my old friends that are NEET. However, I know that they have an awesome Talent and Potential.
Also basically, I was supposed to post it in an appropriate forums but honestly what I found are existing threads that has stupid replies.
I want to see this forum's opinions oe thoughts regarding on this xD

Whoo that's a hard question. The best thing to do I guess is to find what they really want to do, their desire; aspiration. Now I know that's cliche, but that's really what they need to do. It's hard to find what we really want to do as we get older, because our options become broader or we become demotivated, and the best way to overcome this is to take inspiration from someone, or something. But keep in mind that whomever their inspiration is, they can never become that person, your friend(s) must become themselves. Take it slow; take your time. Find a small job if they can't support themselves financially. Get support from relatives. And from what my parents told me, success comes with failure. So regardless of what happens to them, they have to keep going! John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans". I've always kept that in my head when I read it. I hope that helped.

@dev777 thats an amazing output. Well, I do believe as well they need some push towards them to see what theyre really capable of. I somewhat call it Untapped potential. Well I wont deny but its true that NEETs are being said to be non providers into a society but I also disagree, as some of them just really need that push.
Thanks for your output I was a NEET for a year before after I resigned from my work and I said that I'll have atleast a month of break and it ended up a year instead.
I came up with this topic cause I'm kinda concern with this friend of mine whos in its early 30's already and worked once only.
He's not the type of being sitting or napping all day though, However, he seems to be under of the phrase "Life starts at 40" haha.

@dev777 Oh, also another reason why I put it in this forum as Gaming is also one of the many reasons for being a NEET.

Simple say, don't be lazy. All the good things like marrige, own a house,a family, a car or what ever you wish on your life won't come to you just like that if you just sitting, wondering around aimlessly and still acting like a kid.
Sorry if some people feel offended about what i said but this is it.Don't blame your fate, family or anything that you can take it as an excuse of being NEET.Being NEET or not is YOUR choise.

Most minimum wage jobs require at least a Highschool Diploma or a G.E.D. Also, certain field of work requires you to be certified (by taking and passing a test) in order to to do certain work within your profession. It's practically self explanatory. Just imagine your self in a position of a employer.
Yes, working towards achieving a job that revolves around the things that interest you will be great... but first and foremost, basic education is a must and anything beyond that is up to the individual.

Yes, working towards achieving a job that revolves around the things that interest you will be great... but first and foremost, basic education is a must and anything beyond that is up to the individual. Remember this is an international forum dude. Circumstances differ from place to place and for people in my country there really is no excuse. I live in Australia which really is a land of opportunity. There is a high degree of kids dropping out of school after they turn 15,but there are many opportunities in the workforce as this country has 1 of the highest award rates for unskilled labour in the world. For others it just simply be a matter of taking up a trade and you are set for life if you pick the right 1 that suits you. In some instances a loan may be necessary to get necessary tickets and licenses to increase your chances at gaining employment. However, if 1 is fit and healthy, if all else fails in the built up urban areas, there is always a multitude of work on farms all over the country with good rates to work for wage, or depending on what you are picking, there is exceptional money to be made working to pick on peace rate. In my instance, idk if I am classes as a neet or not lol. I haven't worked since Feb 2014.I haven't been able to work. Many in this forum now know my circumstances, so I cbf going over the deets again, but I'll just say it involves an incredibly broken leg and a long road of rehabilitation. After so long of being out of action, returning to work was a daunting thought I will certainly conceed. On top of that was the knowledge that due to my circumstances, I might never be able to do the types of work I have always enjoyed in the past which have all been intensely physical in nature. I have spent such an incredible amount of time in the gym to try to get back up to par. I have spent much time racking my brains to try to devise or discover some different skill set I mightn't have known about so I can get back in action. I have applied for and completed a number of different licenses and tickets to better my chances of gaining employment and there are a number more I would still like to do. Currently I am basically chasing any form of work regardless of the field it is in and basically just applying for anything that doesn't specify that 2years exp in x field is a requirement. As I stated, if I give up on the city, then the farms are an option as I have a number of contacts back in that life, though I would be living if I said I was looking forward to going back to it. I can say however though that at this point as I do understand how to best optimise my resources that once I truly apply myself to find employment, 3 weeks is really all it takes. It doesn't matter if it's what I want to do right now, for the time being it is still about discovering what other form of skill set I may possess that could be useful in the future. If I need to job hop for a bit then that is no biggy,, everything and every exp is a stepping stone and everyone is a resource. To those who are legit neets that may be intimidated by the world at large, it's just a matter of understanding that life is far more comfortable when you have a steady income. For those forms of hikikomori as displayed in many anime who's parents continue to fund there life styles... Man! Your parents need 1 hellova smack over their heads (Anglo Saxon and north and central European peoples traditionally are expected to look after themselves once they have completed their schooling or simply just when they are capable of doing so) 1 could also just start playing Pokemon Go I suppose lmao. I do understand the whole fear of people thing and how scary the world can be, so sometimes it could just simply be a matter of joining a club that has something to do with your interests in terms of building up your confidence around others which would better assist to reintegrate back into society. Welp, I've waffled on enough here I think, but I do hope I got my point across (whatever that was ) feel free to apply some interpretation Or simplification Namitsuki or astegEdit: oh yeah, and don't procrastinate as I am doing right now in writing this up, things just get hell harder the longer you leave them.

Im 9 years old and i've seen more sh** then most people do in their whole lives...
Literally, i worked on a farm for 3 years and cleaning the manure out after winter was crazy, you'd be up to your nipples in cow s*** if you dug a spot all the way to the floor and the smell would stick to the inside of your nose and your clothes
Go to school kids, you dont want to be nipple deep in cow sh**.
This has been inspirational stories with asteg, tune in next time when i tell you all about why microwaving a potatoe inside aluminum foil is a bad idea

Ofcourse if you live in a 3rd world country where education is scarce than yeah, that's another story. I wasn't trying to argue either, just pointing out that higher education isn't a must. What will get a job quicker than anything is if you have a trade. For unskilled labour there is very good money on the farms like I said and with the right licences and certificates you can get in anywhere. Now the thing that basic (completing highschool) and higher education will get you is just like asteg said, that you don't need to be nipple deep in cow sht. And that your not required to sweat your arse off out in the blazing sun everyday (even if you are payed well to do so) you can strain your head in an air conditioning office instead and possibly kiss your way through asses up to some sort of leadership position. For me however, I love the outdoors (country boy) and the feeling of testing my bodies strength. Also I have a slow metabolism and without living in the gym I would turn into some chunky stay puffed marshmellow man if I ever lived the life of a desk jokey, which I think is really something that would probably kill me.

This is a rather difficult question, what would I do? First off ill ask them "do you think you can do more" and of they say no, you just simply leave them alone. Pfffffffffffffft like hell you should, even if they say no keep pestering them (do it gently) and ALWAYS GET THEIR PARENTS INVOLVED. However, don't shame em or baby them be harsh if you need to but be gentle (dem contradictions)
I guess I was somewhat coherent? yes, no, maybe, lobster?
