Hello
there fellow Toramians! Welcome to my first ever "guide". Honestly, i'm not sure you can even call this a guide. It's more like tips rather than a guide, but since I want people to see it, i'm just going to call it a guide where everyone and anyone can run back to for some good ol'e tips from Talbourn!
Any-who, shall we begin?
We have all come to know and love the amazing, and yet so beautiful Flare Vlog. With its magnificent drops and flaming scales..
You've obviously come to here for the tips and not me *insert one tear here*. So without further or do....tips! (Pretend children are screaming yay, just go with it).
So after a couple hours farming this "hot" beast (bad-dum-tis), i've figured out this most effective combo (for mage's specifically) to defeat him/her/it. I'm sure i'm not the only one who has figured out this combo, but I may be one of the few who recognize how good it is..
Party Time Baby!
To start off, you obviously want at least 1-2 tanks in your party, as specially if you, the mage, wants to stay alive. 1 tank should be fine, a breaker, and 2 mage's I believe is the most effective, or whatever you like. Just make sure you have at least one tank in your party.
Anyway... onto the mage combo. To start off, you'll want to start off the beginning of each battle with a 3 hit combo. Magic wall, Arrow, and then to top it off, blast. For this combo, I recommend you have xtal earrings or magic ring, or both, whatever works. As long as you get 7+ mp bars, you'll be fine.
Before we go any further, I just want to point out something. If you really want the max dmg output against volg as a mage? Get a water staff. Why, you ask? Because Volg is weak against water element! Anyway, you'll always want to begin with the combo I told you previously at the beginning of each battle: 1.Magic Wall 2.Arrow 3.Blast. The reason this combo is so effective, is because at the beginning of the battle, you do a damage bonus for a small amount of time. I hit about 1.5k-2.6k with arrow by itself and magic wall by itself. Since arrow shoots 6x, that's about 9k-15.6k damage sololy by each attack, make a whopping total of about 18k-31.2k damage at the beginning of each battle by mage. Add the blast attack (which for me does 10k-12k dmg) and it'll come to 28k-41.2k dmg at the beginning of battle. Not this damage is for me each time at the beginning of battle, i'm not so sure how much dmg you guys do, but i'm sure you can imagine the damage output for yourself. Now imagine that with 2 mages doing that combo at the beginning? You could be done within 20-50s into battle easy. Just a quick note: I only combo'd magic wall and arrow together, I pressed blast as a separate skill. Since I only had 7 bars of mp, I used the combo once and mp charged. However I have noticed if you do the combo fast enough at the beginning, you can go in for another double dmg combo, just except you won't be able to use the blast skill since you only charge about 3-4 bars and can only use the first two skills (magic wall and arrow which costs 3 mp bars combined). After landing the first combo, or if you're lucky landing the combo twice, your skills should be doing around 600-800 dmg per-hit. That's still about...3.6k-4.800 dmg from each skill. Combining the dmg is about 7.2k-9.6k.
What do I do after the beginning combo?
From there on you'll be wanting to do a rinse-cycle-repeat. I like to do it in this order, beginning to end: Mw>Arrow>Blast>Charge>Mw>Arrow>Charge>Blast>Charge>Mw>Arrow>Charge>Blast>Charge>... and so on and so forth until its dead. If you still don't get it, feel free to ask anything you don't understand in the comment below.
Wondering about my equips?
I don't really have anything special to be honest, but as i'm sure this will come up, here it is: Water Staff, Irogeon, M. Xtal Armor, Xtal Earrings, Sofys Talisman(although I prefer you use magic ring as I have no idea why I have this on my mage).
Anything I missed, any questions?
If you're still confused about something, don't be afraid to ask. As I warned you in the above... This is my first "guide". If you have any tips for my future, if I have any future guide's, please give me info that may help me on the road ahead. I do apologize for how sloppy and ugly it is.
End.
