If your reading this, you’ve probably taken an interest in making a Priest character or just using this thread for future reference or even if it just piqued your curiosity, any is acceptable. Now let's begin, first off:
• This build is strictly healing and support so if you’re seeking a dps build, comment below saying so and I will try my best to make one and add it to this thread at a later date.
• This build is not the optimal for every instance like all other builds, however, you can change that with suggestions to improve this to make it into the most optimal priest build.
• If this build needs work, please specify what it needs to improve with your comment, it makes a big difference.
Main Skills
Bless
Mp cost: 100
Location: Priest tree
Description:
Restore Hp a little at fixed intervals.
The heal amount and duration depend on Lv.
Information:
This is your main go to skill for healing due to its cheap cost and the fact that it’s a party-wide heal. This skill has 3 ticks, it heals 60-80 health with each tick which is mediocre but it occurs 3 times which adds up to a good amount of health recovered over a short duration, the first tick occurs immediately after cast, the second and third occur at short fixed intervals after the first. Again, this is your go to heal so I’d recommend maxing it out. Don’t stress about targeting your ally as it heals everyone.
Mini heal
Mp cost: 300
Location: Support tree
Description:
Restore the target’s Hp a little.
Reduce the target’s waiting time to revive of the target is knocked out.
Information:
This is your emergency ( or in other words the oh sh**) heal for moments when your teammate may need a big heal. If your tank is below half Hp and dying quickly, use this. If your breaker or dps has caught aggro and got hit heavily, use this. If your Mage has caught aggro, use this. If you’ve gotten hit on the brink of death, signs point…..to using this! This skill however does require you to target the ally and then heal them, otherwise you just heal your self. Make sure you have over three bars of mana at all times which shouldn’t be a problem when you auto-attack with magic devices or Charge or both so ensure that situation never happens. I strongly suggest maxing this otherwise when the emergency (oh sh**) moment comes, it won't just be a “mini heal” that turns the tide of boss battles, it will be your choices.
Mp Charge
Mp cost: 0
Location: Magic tree
Description:
Restore Mp by charging magic power.
The charging time reduces as the skill levels up.
Information:
As a Mage you should be using this anyway if you’re casting spells but this is a potential life saver, this is compulsory for optimal mp management unless you have good Mp regen already, the second part of the description is important, if you plan on using this skill effectively, I recommend maxing it. The skill takes 3-6 seconds of casting get 300 mp right off the bat. Strategically time the intervals in which you use this skill in boss fights in order to keep your team alive. This does not mean you can splash your mini heal’s around like it’s nothing, like I said, this takes 3-6 seconds which is a long time in a boss fight.
Gloria
Mp cost: 100
Location: Priest tree
Description:
Increase DEF and MDEF for a short time.
Guard rate will also increase if you equip a shield.
Information:
This skill should be cast often, protecting you with a large DEF and MDEF buff (and everyone in the party, not entirely certain, can someone specify) depending on the level of the skill, this skill is what separates you from dying and staying alive if your hit, it’s also great for soloing,so if you plan on soloing, this is your skill.
Stat Build
Magic Device build
Agi Build
For this build, simply max Agility, only if you plan on only using auto-attacks instead of using spells like Magic Arrow and those sort of skills in the Magic tree. The reason why the Agility build is viable is because
1. The Mp regen is absurd (IMO) due to the attack speed (in combination with the right gear) being through the roof.
2. The chance to dodge if you caught aggro is heightened in comparison to the full Int build.
3. The attack speed makes it so you have 0 cooldown time with auto-attack intervals to rack up (potentially) half the damage it takes to use Magic Arrows and gain extra mp.
Int Build
Max Int, and you can also get Magic arrows and rack up some real dps but slightly hinder healing capabilities with the Mp management and the extra cast time. You’ll have to use Charge a lot more to keep the Mp at a minimum of 300. This build is capable of auto-attacking as well but to a lesser extent as it doesn’t have the attack speed that the Agi build has, however the right gear can fix that. This build is capable of insane damage on par with any of the top mages. Nuff’ said
Staff Build
This is a pure Int build,You cannot Auto-attack like the Magic Device because that requires you to get into melee range, but the thing that trumps the Staff over the Magic Device is cast speed, which puts the Magic Device Int Build out of business in terms of dps because with cast speed, the dps is monstrous in this build, but you’re a priest, not a wizard, so prioritise healing spells over damage at all times. Also the you can equip a secondary weapon, either a shield, dagger or Magic Device (which is just for vanity). The shield is recommended if you wish to be more tank’y and take more hits but that’s the tank’s job, not yours, unless you’re soloing.
Compulsory Equipment (if you can)
Magician’s Ring
+1000 mp
-25% MATK
-25% PATK
Crystal Earrings
+300 mp
Please comment suggestions to improve this guide and I will add it if proven useful. Thank you
