Try getting the drop rate skill from the survival skill tree n get some luck stats I guess it might help a little (mine is maxed with 15 Luck stat and I got like 2/3 of that garb within a day of farming). Also try partying with people, top the ranks(like attacker, tank, etc.), break the boss's parts, use gems(if possible), and be patient .

Also try partying with people, top the ranks(like attacker, tank, etc.), break the boss's parts, use gems(if possible), and be patient . As I mentioned, I already have 10 points into drop rate. I haven't invested in Luck because I haven't seen any documented or otherwise convincing argument for it, as in: how does it work? what is the minimum needed to see any results? does it have a static affect on all types of drops? (meaning, a flat percentage added to the existing rates of all drops a mob offers?), is there a formula for how the game processes it?. I'm not doubting that Luck helps, I'm just not sure I'd want want to drop any points into it since it will proportionally deprive my character of stats they would definitely see more consistent benefit from. On that note, are there any sources or topics discussing the Luck stat?

If you get lucky it drops easily. Personally from my experience on boss drops (from armour to xtals) i have got 80% of mine from being in a party and from being placed 1st for damage, tank etc. Crystal armour, 2 x wolf garbs, wolf xtals, eerie xtals etc this way. Exactly how much of a benefit to drops it gives being in a party and placed 1st is unknown. My feeling is its a big boost, you certainly get way more materials from party play than soloing. And as a previous, reply said above, its much quicker to farm this way. I'd advise you all to play the odds, no matter how annoying and frustrating the drop is. Party up get normal drops + bonus from 1st place, its better than just going solo. Your problem is your farming him solo. I strongly advise against doing this to get uncommon and rare drops. You'll get more loot from being in a party, getting 1st breaker, tank, dps and support is chance for more loot. If you want the good stuff, especially xtals, party up It just seems weird that only certain bosses are exempt from that rule, like the Golem. I mean I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, given my first hand experience at this point. This is one particular issue where I hope its me and not the game lol. Golem boss for some reason is really very silly for drops its like a jackpot everytime you break him completely . *all fingers and toes crossed for good luck on drops for all *

I've been playing both toram and its predecessor iruna, and both games has very low drop rates for rare items...
Breaking, ranking, drop gems, books, stats, they do help a little, but always expect abyssmal drop rates
P.S. keep those slotted special equips, slotted drop rates are so low (some say its 1/100000)

So I've literally been farming the Forest Wolf for 4 weeks straight [solo], I've killed him hundreds of times and not once has that damn garb dropped. Am I really to believe that the garb is THAT rare? I've spoken with other people who have gotten it within a week of trying, some even TWICE while partying with them. Is it a conditional drop rewarded to people who rank first as attacker/tank/etc? (I always finish first as attacker), is there something I'm missing here?. Is it simply not possible to obtain while solo?. Don't get me wrong, I get the whole "if it were easy then everyone would have it" argument, but 4 weeks of grinding for hours each day? really?. My interest is waning at this point.

My interest is waning at this point. Got my w garb solo grinding with astute-hit combo, no break, no 1st place mathingy but as far as my memory can recall I kill under 10s, and it was an easy drop that i could choose stats from 3 garbs, but my bd crown was farmed for 26h only to find out that breaking the head makes it easier to drop. (Found a pt then bd crowns were dropping like snow in winter) Maybe different items got different "requirements" to increase drop rate? PS. I always do a little prayer(more of a wish maybe?) to the Goddess Veltria before starting a farm spree~
