The video test is here:
Today I will be testing a myth believed by many players especially in the High Wizard community of Iruna. For some reason the misconception that spellburst is affected by CRT rate and CRT damage has become widely accepted and debated, But Ill put that to rest with these few short tests. There might be a few small errors in the calculations, But none of them are big enough to affect the test by a long shot. Feel free to comment/ask whatever you want.
TEST 1: Does CRT Rate affect spell burst rate?
------My High wizard has 1 CRT which, According to the JP Wiki, Gives me a base of 20% spell burst activation, or 1/5 chance to activate spell burst.
-------This is highly unlikely to begin with since it is so easy to gain CRT rate now. In order to disprove this, The best way would be to use gear that gives you atleast a 100% CRT rate, That way, If even 1 attack does not proc then it disproves this theory.
-------Gear used was Pramia(+30), Schwartz with tech lv.2(+20), Aulis Gale with Himmel and tech lv.2 (+30 or more), Seahorse Bangle with tech lv.4 (+20)......All together you get at least a 100% crt rate increase. In theory this would mean that spell burst has a 100% chance to occur.
------After the test, you can see that only 1/6 spells activated spellburst when 6/6 activations were to be expected .Because of that failure and because it was not even close to 6/6, It is safe to say that CRT rate does not affect spellburst rate. If you have experienced higher spell burst proc with crt rate gear, It is by pure luck.
TEST 2: Does Critical damage affect spellburst damage?
----Obviously to make this test fast and easy, I would need to use 2 gears that do not affect any of my stats at all, Besides one which will be used to add Critical damage. The gear chosen was Suishen Katana(10% critical damage) and Montol Cotliet(No effect to the test)
-----The spellburst damage increase, According to the JP wiki, Is 1.5x more damage dealt when spellburst activates. since 10% is equal to 0.1, then it would be 1.6x More damage. Normally my EQ hits around 30k on these mobs so a normal spellburst would be around 45k while a critical damage charged one would be at 46k. This difference seems small but thanks to elemental bonuses my damage on spellburst will hit higher, Allowing for a gap to be more noticeable(5k estimated). On any scale, Damage should never be the same when both of these gear are tested, Suishin should always be higher and never within a 1-3k margin of damage.
-----As seen in the test, Montol actually hit higher by 1k than suishin katana. Further testing could be done, But the fact that montol hit harder and was still close to suishin's damage would be enough to prove that critical damage does not affect spellburst damage, Or to at-least say that 0%critical damage is the same as 10% critical damage when spellburst activates....
As said above feel free to comment. If you feel that something was wrong with the test, Including some of the minors errors that you feel would alter the outcome let me know.
