Going to start including some general Magic Blade Chanter tanking info in this thread. For now just a little info:
First off Enchanters main form of damage reduction is Stoneskin. As far as others and I can tell Stoneskin scales with HP, meaning the higher HP you have the more HP your Stoneskin has. So where as Paladin's approach tanking gear in an HP+Resistance mind set more leaning towards Resistance for survival, Enchanters focus a little more on the HP part. This is a minor difference anyways. Also our damage doesn't increase with HP like Pally and we scale off both ATK and MATK.
Additional: Ideasol is the best tanking add equip. There are a couple other equips with HP/Resistance stats as well. Duel Helm, Hoplon, Lion Shield. Barbarotita is a great option if you are using Licht and don't have the spina for a QC. Wolf Ears is better than Barbarotita though but not a big difference. Miwi Hat UP is another option for high HP
Body: Licht Armor is great paired with Ideasol QC or a Barbarotita/Wolf Ears. Excelis Re Up works with Ideasol and is really nice on bosses that buff wipe since you can use buffs quicker and it doesn't cancel Bishops buff
Special: Knight Gauntlet Slot is best overall, probably with a Mezzaluna instead of HP 20 tbh. Otherwise use a Mezzaluna equip or a Brave/Wisdom Bangle with HP 20. I almost always use a Mezza equip though
Everything should have HP 20 in it except for maybe Excelis Re Up and Special Equip. In general for tanking everything without an issue 30-40k is needed for most stuff. More is always welcome though since you won't need to cast Stoneskin as often. This is also really good for soloing. You would be surprised how huge of a difference DPS>Tank gear makes in how well you solo and Tank. I see too many Enchanters that just plain don't have tank gear and can't do many bosses. Licht+Barbarotita+Wound Transfer+Brave Bangle HP 20 is enough for any boss currently out(including Raton/Almas and screw Doom). That's like 10-12m total so it isn't hard to get. Beyond that Ideasol+Excelis Re Up+Dragon Roar cost like 70-90m though so it's understandable to not have those however they are for increased damage while tanking mostly(doing 20-30k in full tank gear on most bosses is nice).
Another note on DPS while tanking. We can't just wear more HP gear to increase our damage, we have to wear DPS gear to increase it. So the more VIT you have the less likely you are to need to wear tank gear for stuff. So don't neglect VIT. This does not mean wear full DPS gear when you are dying regularly. Also if you have to constantly spam Stoneskin then you are doing less damage.
I'll add more boss specific strategies at some point as well. Mostly just use the appropriate Origin for reducing damage, or boost the Hwiz if its Light/Dark/Neutral, wear tank gear when necessary, and on HP 1s make sure to keep Stoneskin as high as possible for most of the fight. Oh and if you gots a squishy Bishop and there's tons of AOE(Raton, Ushilith) then Stoneskin them as well. Don't bother Stoneskinning DPS at Raton lol. In general Bishops are only super squishy around 180-200.
If you are fighting a boss that does small/medium amounts of damage and the Bishop can easily keep up with healing then don't use Stoneskin. You don't always need to use it, even though it is really nice to have. I often just completely skip using it on certain bosses, especially if I have one of the hate magnets(High Wiz, Sin, Geo Monk). More DPS from Chanter=faster boss kills.
This is gonna be the shortest guide ever lol. This applies to Magic Blade spam builds, and possibly counter builds as well(despite being the same thing basically lol). Basically what you do, is get -2 second skill delay and then....spam Mini Heal 3. Viola! AOE tanking! It's also probably a good idea to mix in some Hate rise gear in there as well to make it more reliable when you screw up spamming.
I admit that this is probably the crappiest form of AOE tanking in the game right now lol(well there's only one other real AOE tank atm and there are 2 others in JP) since it does no damage, I guess unless you use Counter gear. However getting -2 second delay and Counter gear seems like it would be a pain...and would leave you with lower HP.
Pros:
Enchanters can actually AOE tank!
It has a big range, as heals draw aggro from far away
You can use Origin/Draw to increase party members damage more than Pally can
You might not need as many heals as Pally will, however Paladins barely need heals anyways
Cons:
You gotta time pressing Mini Heal exactly right when you are getting hit or you will auto attack and thus not get as much hate
Does basically no damage itself as opposed to Pally's 10-25k AOE DPS(depending on Level/Gear)
It feels like leeching cause you do no damage haha
I may expand upon this in the future as a general Magic Blade Tank guide because people be tanking in DPS gear and dying left and right lol. Parties shouldn't have one Enchanter that is Mblade spam die constantly and then have another that needs no healing or doesn't even need to spam Stoneskin on the boss at all. Tank gear is easy to get and cheap lol.

Gear
Weapons: Dragon Roar is the best so far that I can tell. Gives the most HP and is a Throwing weapon so you do more damage with it. Wound Transfer/Katz/Ama no Habakiri may reduce damage a bit more but that is unnecessary and it's better to do more damage. If you are lower leveled and having trouble with a boss the special swords may work out better for you.Additional: Ideasol is the best tanking add equip.
